Deciduous or semi-deciduous shrub producing delicious blue fruit during summer. Delicate white or pink flowers produced in spring. Berry’s ripen from green through to pink, through to blue. During the Autumn the leaves turn bright yellow, burnt orange and finally deep red.
Berries are packed with antioxidants, vitamins and are excellent source of fibre. Eat fresh or use in pies, muffins, fruit salads and deserts. Fruit can be frozen for later use.
Grow in a full sun position in free draining, humus rich soil. Protect from strong winds. Feed with slow release fertiliser twice a year. Prune old stems and dead wood at the end of winter.
