Mangave Night Owl (Agave macrocantha) shows off rippled silvery black leaves with burgundy markings. Like all Mangave, the best colour comes from plants growing in full sun; in a shaded position this beautiful variety shows off slate grey foliage giving it a very ‘metal sculpture’ look and feel wherever it is planted.Mangaves love a sunny position, and whilst they do need to be grown in a gritty well drained soil and will not tolerate waterlogging, regular watering during the growing season will encourage these beauties to grow on at a good speed. Once the plant has reached the desired size, less water will encourage plant to slow it’s growth rate. Suitable for landscaping uses or potted displays, the brilliant foliage markings and architectural shapes creates a real focal point. Like all succulents, Mangaves need protection from frost as this will damage the foliage.
